Our Mission
The LAFPVA is an employee group formed by Los Angeles Fire Department and Los Angeles Police Department personnel who are dedicated to serving the needs of the military veteran community while serving the citizens of the greater Los Angeles area. Our organization is composed of police officers, firefighters and paramedics who have served or are currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.
Our Vision
We welcome all veterans currently serving on the Fire or Police Department as well as retirees, non-veteran supporters and veterans who seek employment in either department to join us as we assist the recruiting efforts of both departments and support our veterans.
Our Objectives
To support veterans leaving the military and interested in seeking employment into our workforce by facilitating outreach and information on education, training and testing opportunities.
To support our current veteran workforce by conducting informational sessions to educate the members about the benefits they have earned through their service to our country, and facilitating access to those resources.
To support our veterans who need additional assistance with further educational opportunities and career development.
To support our veterans by providing access to various health and wellness resources and opportunities.
To support our veterans by fundraising and hosting events to meet our objectives.
